Mat Rush (Lomandra longifolia)

A clumping grass to 1 metre high, spreading to 2 metres.

Leaves are stiff with sharp edges (be careful).

The heavily scented nectar on white/cream flowers attracts pollinating beetles which are then eaten by birds and animals. The seeds are also eaten by native animals.

It is a soil stabiliser preventing erosion and has multiple uses.
