
A rainforest tree usually 5-10 metres (up to 25 metres). It is a primary coloniser of the rainforest, and is found on forest edges. It is a common regeneration tree. The trunk is pale /grey.
Leaves are ovate 5 -14cm long, dark green and glossy above, and white and hairy below.
Summer flowers are small greenish/white. Fruit is a small round black berry.
There are more than 15 known uses for this plant.
